Cryotherapy

Cryotherapy is a minimally invasive treatment method that we also use widely in dermatology. Tissue treated with very cold substances such as liquid nitrogen is destroyed by freezing. It's applied using pressurised cryotherapy devices, sprayed on in a fine mist. Some pain may be felt during this. Healing time varies depending on the size of the lesion, its location and the individual's characteristics.

It's generally preferred for treating lesions on the skin such as warts, sun spots, skin tags and seborrhoeic keratoses. Besides these, it can also be used in treating precancerous skin lesions such as actinic keratosis, or certain early-stage skin cancers. Infectious lesions such as warts and molluscum may require repeated sessions of treatment. Not requiring surgery (an incision, needles, etc.), not leaving an open wound immediately after the procedure, and allowing a quick return to normal life are among cryotherapy's standout features.
