Striae, commonly known as ‘stretch marks’, are lines that form when the skin is stretched due to pregnancy or weight changes, causing cells in the dermis, the middle layer of the skin, to break down. In the early stage they're red-purple, while in the later stage they become silvery-white. Treatment success is high while they're red-purple in appearance. For white stretch marks, success rates are around 30–50%.
Treatment involves needling methods such as Dermapen and microneedling radiofrequency, lasers, PRP and mesotherapy. The best results come from combination treatments where several methods are used together.
